What determines your results as a hypnosis client?
Whether or not you achieve your goal depends largely on the action you take between sessions. Many law of attraction books state that one reason people fail to manifest what they desire is failure to maintain the correct mindset.
After seeing a competent hypnotist, you will be well on your way to positively changing your beliefs. But, you will need to reinforce those new beliefs to create lasting change.
Your success depends on changing mental habits
To get the most out of your sessions, reinforce your new positive ideas until they “stick.”
How long does it take to build a new habit?
Most of us think that it takes 21 days to build a new habit. However, recent research shows that it takes closer to 90 days.
21 days is a commendable start. However, to make sure your results last, I advise you to continue your mental work for at least 60 days. At the 60-day point, there is enough momentum that you can stop practicing and feel confident that the new beliefs will stick. I recommend practicing twice a day.
Do your personal growth work for 60 days. If you miss a day, you don’t need to start over. Simply pick up from where you left off.
Your affirmation log
Your hypnotist will give you a list of affirmations to use for reinforcement. Put the list into your affirmation log to track how often you use each one.
Your log consists of two columns. One for the affirmation you are working on, and another to track how many days you have used it.
Every day you use this affirmation, update the number of days completed column. Keep using the affirmation every day until you reach 60 days.
How many affirmations should you do each day?
I like to do around 5 affirmations per day. I find that doing so allows me to make good progress, and the practice doesn’t take much time. Even if you only do 1 per day, you are still making progress. The key is to keep going for 60 days.
When you complete your hypnosis sessions, you will probably have 10-15 affirmations in your journal. When you complete 60 days on the first one, scratch it off the list. Then, go to the next one. Keep going until you have used all of the affirmations for 60 days. Yes, it’s a lot of work, but the results are worth it. You are establishing new thought patterns which will lead to the results you want!
What should you use as an affirmation log?
You can use anything from a notebook, to an electronic journal, to track your affirmation practice. I personally use Evernote, as the electronic format makes it easy to update. Also, having it synced across multiple devices insures that I always have it with me. Use whatever works for you.
Tracking your affirmation practice keeps you accountable and insures results if you stick with it. Remember, habitual patterns will not change overnight. You must keep reinforcing the new patterns until they become habits. That is how you achieve lasting change.
