Is there a mental vaccination for illness? Yes, there is. But it’s not what you might think.
I recently spoke with a woman at one of my regular networking groups. She was stressed out because she is taking care of her father with Alzheimer’s disease. She told me that she is becoming more and more concerned about getting the disease herself. “That’s going to be me in 20 years!” she exclaimed.
And it probably will be. Every time she says that, she is programming her mind to create the illness. The more you worry about something like that, the more likely it is that you will get the disease. She has pretty much decided that she would get the illness because it “runs in the family.”
According to this article, there is a vaccination for Alzheimer’s being tested right now. However, I propose that you consider an even more powerful vaccination.
A mental vaccination from illness
Let’s suppose for a moment that disease does in fact run in families. Even then, your mindset determines how your inherited genes are expressed. The power of expectation is tremendous. It’s why the placebo effect exists. For example, a patient is expecting to receive a vaccination, but instead receives a sugar pill. They may very well be cured. It was the power of their expectation that made this possible.
The same applies to the expectation of getting an illness. The more you dwell on it, the more you affirm it, the more it becomes your experience.
But you do have a choice. You can choose to expect health instead of disease. And this mental expectancy is more powerful than any vaccination. So, I challenge you to create the expectation of health by watching what you say and think about. Choose to fill your mind with positive, healthy thoughts.
Please take a moment and share this content with the person in your life who is worried about their health. Until next time, remember that you get more of what you focus on.
