I am fortunate to be in a networking group with many wellness practitioners. The group is called Pay-it-Forward Business Referral Network in Colleyville, TX. If you’re a wellness or business professional in the DFW area, feel free to join us.
An interesting topic of conversation came up at our last meeting: The difference between men and women when it comes to wellness.
The difference between women and men
When women have an issue, they seek help immediately. Women want to solve their issues as quickly as possible, and aren’t afraid to ask for help.
Men, on the other hand tend to delay seeking help. Men wait until the issue becomes almost unbearable until they will even consider asking for help.
This tendency was actually brought up by another hypnotist in our group who has been practicing over 20 years. Even though I am just starting out myself, my clients so far have all been women. Although, I do have a man coming in for a free consultation this afternoon 🙂
What this means about men
I think too many men are still subscribing to the false belief that it is a sign of weakness to ask for help. This is especially true when it comes to seeking out wellness services.
There is no need to suffer needlessly when there are wellness services that can easily resolve your issue. I challenge men to cast out this false belief. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, and it is better to get that help sooner, rather than later.by Sean Maness, CHP
